Debug Export

Debug snapshots are generated to help troubleshoot LLM interactions. By default, debug snapshots are disabled in all environments.

Enabling Debug Export

To enable debug export in development environment only, set the ENABLE_DEBUG_EXPORT environment variable:

Docker Compose:

environment:
  - ENABLE_DEBUG_EXPORT=true

Shell/Terminal:

export ENABLE_DEBUG_EXPORT=true

.env file:

ENABLE_DEBUG_EXPORT=true

Debug Snapshot Location

When enabled, debug snapshots are saved to debug/chat_debug_<timestamp>.md with detailed information about:

  • Conversation metadata
  • LLM configuration
  • Input/output messages
  • Function call results
  • Retrieved context documents

Production Deployment

For production environments, ensure ENABLE_DEBUG_EXPORT is not set or set to false to prevent unnecessary file generation and potential disk space issues.
